Queensland is one of the most beautiful places to visit in the world. From its secluded tropical beaches to its historical sites and festivals, there is much to see and do in this beautiful area of Australia’s coastline. It is also a fantastic place to take your entire family. Enjoy a trip to the Queensland area, but remember to prepare ahead of time!
1. First, book your flights ahead of time. Queensland can get pretty crowded during the tourist season, a lot of which culminates during the summer months, so be sure to get your flights well in advance. If you are flying interstate into Queensland, then you should be able to choose from Qantas, Virgin Australia and Jetstar. These will get you into any major Queensland airport in both comfort and a minimal amount of time. If you are flying in from overseas, make certain that you have your passports. You will be able to fly into Brisbane, Townsville, Cairns and the Gold Coast. For interstate travel, however, Qantas may well be your best bet: it is the second oldest airline company in the world, having been in operation since the 1920s.
2. Travel Insurance. Not sure you want to risk traveling overseas without being insured? You’re not wrong. It’s a good idea to make sure everything is covered. Buy Australian travel insurance and be certain that you know where all the local hospitals and medical treatment centers are when you are traveling. Get your vaccinations in if you are flying into Queensland from overseas.
3. Stay up to date. You can use your phone to stay up to date on all the local tourist information. Using your smartphone can plug you into RSS feeds, twitter updates and portable maps. You can call for directions, ask for help and use a handheld GPS so you don’t get lost. It’s easy and practical – plus it beats hauling around a lot of bulky travel brochures.
4. Looking for a unique place to visit? Try checking out the secluded Bingal Bay or the famous Queensland tip of the Great Barrier Reef.
